The Importance of Terminology

Startup?

Startups are defined as ventures that are in the product development phase and until the phase of the market entry. Pre- or post revenue.

Scaleup?

Ventures that have successfully entered the market (revenues are greater than expenses) are referred to as scaleups. Break-even and positive EBITDA are now being targeted.

Young Established Company?

"Young Established Companies" are companies that regularly generate annually profit (EBITDA). Scaling the company and expansion are now the next agenda.

Due Diligence Ready?

"Due Diligence Ready" is a state in which a venture has already obtained and prepared all necessary information to pass successful an investor due diligence.

Venture?
